The short version: your practice mostly lives on your device, your words go to AI only to run the conversation, and your email is never sold.
Your story (role and goal), what the app learns about how you practice (skills, habits, saved lines, plans) and your settings are stored in your browser on this device. Clearing your browser data removes them.
If you sign in, we keep your email address so your practice is tied to you and so we can occasionally ask how it's going. We don't send a confirmation email, and we never sell or share your address.
To make the other person reply, coach you and summarise how it went, your messages are sent to OpenAI's API. OpenAI doesn't use API data to train its models. We don't store your conversations — only the short notes the app learns about your practice, kept on your device.
When you talk instead of type, your browser's speech recognition turns your words into text (in Chrome this is done by Google). On browsers without it, the recording is sent to OpenAI to transcribe it. Recordings aren't stored.
We count simple anonymous events (like “finished a chat”) to see what's working. They never include your words. Daily limits use a scrambled version of your IP address, never the address itself.
The feedback form is a Google Form; your answers go to a Google Sheet only the maker can see.
On the You page, tap “Forget everything and start over” to wipe what's on your device. To have your email removed from our list, message the maker using the links below.
Icebreaker is a practice tool, not therapy or medical advice. If anxiety is making life hard, please talk to a professional.
